Privacy Policy

The Workhouse Dunstable, 5 Ashton Square, Dunstable, LU6 3SN holds contact details from its customers for the sole purpose of keeping them informed about current and upcoming exhibitions, workshops and exhibiting opportunities.

 

We comply with our obligations under GDPR by keeping personal date up-to-date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.

The data we keep is by consent of the data subject

1. Our customers have given their consent for us to hold these details by:

  • Subscribing to our in-store mailing list

  • Subscribing to our mailing list whilst visiting us at an external exhibition

  • Subscribing to our Newsletter list via our website

  • Booking a space on one of our workshops either in the Gallery or via our Eventbrite site

 

The data we keep is limited and used for specific purposes

2. The details which we keep are Name, Email address and phone number and/or address (where specific permission has been given) together with information about which of our activities each individual is interested in

 

This enables us to tailor our correspondence with our customers and let them know about events and opportunities which might be of particular interest to them

 

We keep our data up-to-date, securely stored and destroyed

3. Our customers can ‘Unsubscribe’ via our MailChimp, Eventbrite and Website lists or ‘Unsubscribe’ or request a correction by phone 01582 661603 or in person at The Workhouse, 5 Ashton Square, LU6 3SN

4. Our customers details are kept:

  • On a physical sign up list, secured within the Gallery and used only by authorised members of the Gallery team

  • On a secure database held by MailChimp or Eventbrite

5. These details will only used by authorised members of the Gallery team in line with the terms of this Policy

We closely control the use of our customers’ data

6. We contact our customers by:

  • Individual email with respect to workshop bookings

  • Group blind copy email to current and recent exhibiting artists with drop off and collection deadlines, upcoming opportunities, publicity materials and other information directly related to showing in the Gallery

  • MailChimp newsletters with an immediate ‘Unsubscribe’ option

  • Automatic Eventbrite booking confirmation

 

We do not share our customers’ data with third parties

7. We DO NOT share any of customers’ information with third parties except in respect of sharing exhibiting artists’ information with customers

  • By giving out artists’ business cards, own publicity information and via our Artist Profile folder

  • With the explicit consent of the artist and customer in order that direct communication can be made in respect of specific or further artworks

8. WE DO NOT AND WILL NEVER SELL OUR CUSTOMERS DATA OR SHARE THIS DATA other than outlined within the terms of this Policy

We have an identified contact point for any questions relating to GDPR and use of personal data

(joanne@theworkhousedunstable.co.uk) or phone no: 01582 661603) will act as the contact point for all queries in relation to this data and to our Privacy Policy including removal from our list; correction of details; requests for copies of details held and for queries in relation to possible data breach.
