CREATIVE COMPANY
CRAFT CLUB

We are delighted to announce that we have received funding from The Whitbread Fund managed by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation (BLCF). Thanks to this grant we have been able to introduce our new Creative Club

OUR LAST CHRISTMAS

It is with a heavy heart and great regret that I have had to take the very difficult decision to close the Workhouse Gallery. This will be our last exhibition, and our final trading day will be in January.

Unfortunately, we have seen a significant reduction in footfall since COVID, which has declined even further with the loss of Farmfoods and Wilkinsons. When combined with the current challenging financial situation, this means that I am no longer able to cover the costs of running the business.

I am very proud of what we have achieved since we opened in October 2017 and thankful for all the support and encouragement I have received from our our loyal customers and Artists.

The Workhouse is a not-for-profit Gallery at the heart of historic Dunstable and has more than fulfilled its aim to support Artists and Makers from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire; be at the centre of the local community and actively promote the interests of local independent businesses.

I will continue with my role as Co Chair of the Dunstable Cultural Consortium, working hard to celebrate the history of the town through Art, Culture and Heritage. In addition to taking time to develop my own creative practise, I also plan to explore new ways to engage; encourage and support the town’s creative Community.

Thank you, once again

Joanne
